What personal data we collect
We collect personal data when you interact with us, including:
- Enquiry and quote requests: when you contact us through our website’s contact or quote forms, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, property address and details of the work you need. These forms are provided by the Contact Form 7 plugin, and submissions are stored securely within our website (via the Flamingo plugin) and/or sent to our email inbox.
- Job and customer records: if you become a customer, we record your contact details, site address, job history, quotes, invoices and any certificates or reports (such as EICRs) in ServiceM8, the job management software we use to run our business.
- Website usage data: we use analytics tools (Google Analytics and StatCounter) to understand how visitors use our website, and Google reCAPTCHA to help protect our forms from spam and abuse. See “Cookies and analytics” below for more detail.
- Communications: if you contact us by phone, email or in person, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
We do not knowingly collect financial details such as card numbers through our website — we do not take card payments, and any invoices are settled by bank transfer or cash.
Why we use your data, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote (legitimate interests / steps taken at your request before entering into a contract)
- To carry out agreed electrical work, including scheduling, invoicing and providing certification (performance of a contract)
- To keep records required by our industry body (NICEIC) and for health and safety or insurance purposes (legal obligation / legitimate interests)
- To protect our website and forms from spam and abuse using Google reCAPTCHA (legitimate interests)
- To understand and improve how our website is used, using analytics (consent, gathered via the cookie banner on our website)
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies. When you first visit, you are asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner. Full details of the cookies we use, and how to manage your preferences, are set out in our Cookie Policy.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Trusted service providers who support our business, such as our website host, ServiceM8 (job management), and email and analytics providers, who only process data on our instructions
- Our accountant and insurer, where necessary
- Regulatory or industry bodies (such as NICEIC) where required for certification or compliance
- Any subcontractors involved in your job, limited to the details they need to carry out the work
- Public authorities where we are required to do so by law
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry and quote details for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, and job, invoice and certification records for as long as required for legal, tax, warranty and insurance purposes (electrical certificates and related records are typically kept for several years). We periodically review and remove personal data we no longer need.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and request a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Ask us to delete your data, where we are not required to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to certain uses
- Ask for your data to be transferred to you or another organisation, where relevant
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (for example, analytics cookies)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your data secure, including using reputable, password-protected software (such as ServiceM8) to store job and customer records, and restricting access to personal data to the people in our business who need it.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults arranging electrical work, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how we collect or use data, or to reflect changes in the law. Any changes will be posted on this page.
